Former St. Paul resident, Randy Dunavan, sent us a brief photo-biography of Father Randal Joyce, C.P. a while back. The document came from the Passionists of Illinois. Randy, now of Longview, Texas, is a dedicated genealogist, and Catholic historian, and I suspect this was found during his research. Some of our followers will remember Father Randal and the Joyce family of St. Paul. Father Randal served the Passionists in several ministries and locations; and he distinguished himself with his longevity — he was a professed member of the Passionist order for 76 years at the time of his death in 2019! For the record, Father Randal's family also distinguished themselves with longevity and service. The Joyce family arrived at Osage Mission in 1869, only four years after the Osage reserve began to open for settlement. His aunt, Mary Joyce, was a tireless promoter of the Osage Mission - St. Paul story; and was the editor of the 1947 Osage Mission Centennial Book.
