Our Hometown Boys.
People who are familiar with the recent development of the St. Paul High School Sports Complex are aware of the signs project. During the past three years the outfield fence has been covered with more than thirty bright, colorful and diversely designed signs. Each sign was purchased by an area business, family or organization who also pays an annual fee to maintain their spot on the fence. Money from the signs project has gone a long way toward building and maintaining the baseball field.

The Newest Sign is Special.
A sign was installed during early April that has special meaning. It is on the home team dugout and depicts a group of local baseball players and coaches. The photo was taken in 1947 and includes several men, and a bat boy, who were well known then and even today — many have passed.
The sign is 9' - 6" long and is 7' - 6" tall. The size required it to be printed on metal backing, in two parts, and then joined in the center during mounting. Former SPHS coach and our current grounds keeper Kenny Crager found the photo and a local artist added the names, patriotic background and "Our Hometown Boys". Kenny has been a central figure in our baseball program for years; and he played an important part in developing the new ball field.
